Yep. How discouraging.
And so the story goes, didadi, dida dida didadi, didadi, dida dida didadi...
Ok, no that's not how the story goes. It goes like that:
I took my usual bus which came at 7:12am. This bus usually reaches City Hall about 8:05am, so I set my handphone alarm to 8am so I have some time to relieve my possibly numbed legs. This usually works, with the occasional exception of me waking up and finding that the bus hasn't reached yet, then going back to sleep, and then waking up 1 or 2 stops after my intended stop.
However, today was different. I woke up at 8 to my alarm, in both sense of the word. I looked around and realized I haven't seen the landscape before... I mean, I have seen it before, but it's usually not on a weekday morning. I was at Kampong Bahru! Stupid bus somehow went so fast it overshot even my 5min margin.
My immediate reaction was, of course, to alight and take a bus back. But then I thought about it... if i were to take a bus back, the bus stop would be like, at Clarke Quay Central! That's quite far from my office! So I decided to just take the bus to Harbourfront, take the NEL to Outram, change to the green line and be at Raffles Place MRT.
So that's what I did... except I didn't reach Raffles Place MRT at first. At Outram station, I glanced at the track chart, saw 2 interchanges on the side I was on, and decided to take that. I didn't see WHICH interchanges they were. I only realized when the train came out into bright sunlight and the announcement said "Redhill". Hahaha! What a klutz! I scrambled out the train and got to the other side to go back to Raffles Place. Obviously, the 2 interchanges were Outram and Jurong East. How lame.
So that's my story. I could've gotten to work at 8am, but instead, got to my seat at 8:45am. 45min of extra travel and about 80cents more than my daily journey, I still am early for work.
Still... it's omen for the bad few days to come. *sigh*
